Getting Started

New to mesh? Start here. You’ll have a node on the air in an afternoon.

1. Get a radio

Almost any MeshCore-compatible LoRa board works. Good first nodes for the 915 MHz US band:

  • Heltec T114 - cheap, easy to flash, low power, great for a first client node.
  • Heltec V3 - cheap, easy to flash, great for a first client node.
  • RAK WisBlock (RAK4631) - low power, ideal for solar repeaters.
  • Seeed T1000-E - pocketable tracker-style client.

2. Flash MeshCore

Flash the latest MeshCore firmware for your board, then set the regional parameters so you land on the OKI Mesh:

Preset: USA/Canada (Recommended)

Byte Count: 2-Bytes

3. Say hello

Power up, join the public channel, and post in our Discord so we can confirm you’re being heard. Welcome to the mesh.
